My desitation

Today I am really happy because I have completed my dissertation. it was taken at least three months to complete it. First I thought that I could not be able to finish it. But finally I won.

university degree

Sri Lankan university students must have a clear understanding about what they are work for and what they are taught to do. Otherwise they will never be able to success their life. Specially in the faculties where subjects in humanities and social sciences are taught, Students have to face severe problem when they finish their degree. Main reason for this is lack of possibilities in job markets. Most of private company owners tend to prevent from recruiting graduates in their companies. Instead they often say that even though these students degrees, they have no any vocational training. On the other hand, for a graduate, company has to offer high salary rate. Therefore in countries like Sri Lanka where most of workers can be chiefly available, it's more beneficial for companies rely on normal workers but on graduates.

In Sri Lanka, holding a degree is not a suitability of having a job, specially in private sector which large amount of companies run by. So they, degree holders, often are helpless. Only thing they have done for not getting a job is having a degree. They like to work even in a small company. No one is allowing to do that. What can they do with this? No one has a definite answer........

Postponing works

I have a tendency of postponing my works. It is difficult to say exactly why I do that. But when it comes to my careful investigation, it seems to me that I always try to remove my pressure by postponing. Even though I feel a little pleasure from it, it should be noted that it is a another extra pressure for me. Clearly I know how should I avoid from this unnecessary feeling. But there is no enough motivation or courage of doing that. That's the main problem which I always been facing.

There is a another reason for postponing works. When it is clear for me that doing certain task is not beneficial for my future or not meet my expectation, I tend to postponing it. May be I know that this will really help me and I try to do it better then. That's also another reason postponing works. Sometime when my expectation collapse, I have a good reason for my favourite habit.

Any way, if we investigate for a clear reason for postponing works, it is too difficult to find a exact one reason. But what it results can not be disregard easily. We have to face so many difficulties, pressure, depression and so on. SO DO NOT TRY TO POSTPONE ANYTHING YOU GOT.

My mind

Mind for me is not a strange topic to discuss. I always try to find a method that how mind works. But main thing I found is that we couldn't exactly say a method for it. we have to change and modify our method which we have discovered with our past experience. Most of the time even our own method seems to be different time to time. Once I got an idea of basic theory for the pattern that mind work, but next minute, when we consider it deeply, we have to change it.

sometime we think that this is the right way of doing things but next moment will tell us that's not the way to do things. then how can we build a exact theory for our decision and believes. we plan our life according to the theory based on our past experience. Nevertheless, it can't definitely be correct even our experience say so. I can't understand how this works and how can we avoid from bad consequences which are caused by ill effected mind. I know something on mind which had been tought by religious leaders and scholars. But it's not sufficient for a vast and keen knowledge over that field. we have to more alert for what is been told about this and what is been going on inside our own mind.

My English Day Speech

Ven. Welagama Pannananda, the deputy principle of this institute , rev.teachers and respectable teachers and my fellow rev. brothers, First of all, let me allow to express my sincere thanks specially for him who gave me a cordial invitation for this special occasion, the English Day celebration. Mr.Siriwardana, the head of English teachers in evening section! I owe you a great debt of gratitude. And I would like to use this remarkable opportunity in my life to be thankful all the teachers those who helped me on my way to university education in deep sense of gratitude.

Today I am talking here in this way. I would like to ask you "why should we give a top priority for learning English?" English isn't your first language, not mine too. Then why should we learn it? Simple answer is to earn money. " Learn English to earn money because English is money today. If you have the products of English then don't worry. there is a huge market outside to sell them out.

But it's not my intension today to discuss about this simple answer, but complex answer. not naive answer but sophisticated answer. Not the artless but gives such a huge importance for English language.

Climate change, soaring food and oil prices, financial turbulences and the apatite for power between major countries have been creating a catastrophic situation in this modern globalished society. It's no exaggeration to say that all these major issues are bi-products of modern scientific revolution. Not only western world but all around the globe have been exhausted with this particular topics- scientific revolution. So they have started to discuss about cultural issues, art, philosophy, religious belief and social matter so on. For example, you can turn your radio on to 96.4 here in Rabukkana there you BBC world service. then you'll find these special programmes. Green Revolution, Age of terror, reporting religion, Race and Reconciliation and so on. Because of the flames of certain scientific revolution which have been dominated past several decades, the great sources of philosophical knowledge has been dried up.
